Like most of the village of Laxton, The Dovecote Inn is Crown Estate property and owned by the Royal Family. Just one of several unusual features, that helps make The Dovecote a unique place.
Constructed in the middle of the nineteenth century the Dovecote was originally built as a farm, and wasn’t converted to an inn until the end of the twentieth century. For a time it coexisted as both a working farm and a public house.
Over recent times it is has become best known and loved as the village inn of Laxton.
The Dovecote boasts three cosy wining and dining rooms, a welcoming foyer area that can seat further guests, and a games room bar area.
In addition there is a large car park, which is also home to Laxton Village Visitors Centre, and a delightful beer garden, with lovely views out towards the village church. There is also an orchard and an area of grassland which can accommodate campers in the summer months. Toilet and showering facilities are available.
