At the Dovecote we pride ourselves on the consistency of high quality products, served in very pleasant surroundings by our ever helpful and courteous staff.

With free house status we are in an enviable position to pick and choose our products to best suit our customer requirements. To that end we have an ever changing selection of real cask ales, often as recommended by locals and visitors alike. Our wine list is varied and interesting and covers a range of flavours and strengths from a variety of continents.

Our scrumptious menu will suit all palates. Our aim is to provide delicious seasonal home cooked dishes from local suppliers. Our steaks are the finest quality meat 21 day on the bone matured for extra flavour.

Fresh vegetables and Salad produce are grown locally and delivered daily. Fresh fish is always a very popular dish at The Dovecote. Fresh Beer Battered Haddock and succulent Whitby scampi are menu favorites, whilst our Specials board offers an extended choice of freshly prepared meals.

Local seasonal game is another treat on offer at the right time of the year. Our Chefs own Game Pie, is a must on a brisk Autumn evening. Our famous puddings and sweets are quite simply to die for. Baked daily to her own homemade recipes, Auntie Mary has been producing desserts for the Dovecote for over 14 years. Enjoy and savour our fine foods, but don’t make the mistake of over indulging before the pudding menu. You won’t be disappointed!
